Sanitrum is a biotechnology company focused on preventing and reducing the effects of UV radiation on skin and the wider ecosystem, with growing work in agricultural biotechnology and resource efficient solutions aligned with the Green Deal. Boron, a line we have researched for years and one of Türkiye's richest resources, is now advanced into R&D supported by TÜBİTAK and into high performance bioactives. Since 2019 we have brought our UV expertise to the Turkish market through our own brand Syorell, now exporting worldwide alongside formula supply and private label options. With Olimpum we develop agricultural biotechnology collaborations, including biostimulant and abiotic stress projects.
Our platform is a next-generation boron technology: the science that turns boron, one of Türkiye's richest resources, into a whole family of high-performance actives. We have synthesized 18 distinct boron bioactives so far, the first library engineered to bring boron chemistry into UV photoprotection, protected by 10 patent applications across skin and agriculture. In skin, a single active has reached an SPF of up to 89 while also neutralizing oxidative stress and supporting the skin's own repair. In agriculture, the same chemistry becomes a patented boron-zinc-pyridoxine complex that helps crops withstand drought, salinity, cold and heat. Patented · Research stageOur boron actives do two jobs at once: they raise photoprotection and neutralize the oxidative stress UV creates, protecting the cellular machinery the skin needs to repair itself. Non-cytotoxic in cell studies, with protective effects against both UVA and UVB photoaging.
Validated in vitroUnlike DNA, sheltered in the nucleus, the RNA that runs protein synthesis floats exposed in the cell, and UV oxidizes it first. That stalls the skin's production of collagen, elastin and its own antioxidant enzymes: the earliest driver of elasticity loss, wrinkles and inflammation. Our multi-year university research targets these first molecular events, to protect the skin before the damage cascades.

Our science, in people's hands. Syorell is a vegan sun & skin care brand for sensitive skin, with 30+ eco-respecting, anti-pollution formulations, the first brand in Türkiye to use the EU-award MicNo mineral filter (2019), sold in Türkiye and recognized across national press.

Sanitrum was founded by M. Kerim Çekiç, an entrepreneur active for 30 years across chemistry, agriculture, cosmetics and biotechnology, after he lost his father to skin cancer in 2015, with a clear purpose: to reduce the harm of UV damage across people, animals, plants and the wider ecosystem, and to support action against the effects of climate change on life and the environment.
We turn rigorous science into a more livable world by using resources efficiently and wasting less. Our boron platform is designed to let manufacturers deliver more with less: higher protection at a lower filter load, and a lighter environmental footprint.
